One thing is certain: we don’t know everything about the young princess.
Although the A’s of course grew up largely safely behind the palace walls, we have now gotten to know Amalia and Alexia a little. However, we know relatively little about the youngest princess. Luckily, there are a number of royalty experts who can tell us more about the mysterious Ariane.
Fashion conscious
According to royalty reporter Josine Droogendijk of Fashion Queen Máxima, Ariane is fashion conscious in any case. One outfit stood out for her. “That is the outfit she wore during King’s Day 2021 in Eindhoven, because she was wearing her mother Queen Maxima’s coat that she also wore at Ariane’s photo session debut. Ariane’s first photo session took place at Het Loo Palace. Máxima was wearing a suede coat. It was very nice that Ariane wore that coat on King’s Day a few years later,” says Josine.
Last year, Josine experienced a little-girls-getting-big moment with Ariane during King’s Day. “Then I thought, oh yes, there’s Ariane again. We really have to keep an eye on her, because she showed very well that she knows the power of a color accent very well. I hope Princess Ariane will be there on King’s Day this year, because I think she could really surprise us in terms of fashion.”
Dreamy
Good: we know that Ariane is a fashion princess par excellence, but we are still in the dark about her personality. In the book that Claudia de Breij wrote about sister Amalia, a glimpse of the mysterious A’tje was lifted: “Ariane is a bit of a dreamer,” she writes. However, that is also the description of the princess.
The great unknown
Royalty reporter Rick Evers also agrees that Ariane is currently the most mysterious princess of the three A’s. “She is also just the great unknown,” he says. “It may be a bit comparable to the family of Prince Constantijn and Princess Laurentien. We see a lot of Countess Eloise, we also hear quite a bit about Count Claus-Casimir, but number three, Countess Leonore, leads a rather anonymous existence. I think they’re fine with that too.”
Ethereal
According to Rick, our queen once, very carefully, said something about the personality of her youngest daughter. “Máxima once characterized her and she used the word ‘ethereal’.” That means something like ‘light’ or ‘refined’. Furthermore, Rick knows that she is musical. “She plays guitar, but apparently she is also into digital composing. So all three of them are involved with music in their own way.”
Anyway: we don’t really know much about Ariane, and in a way we understand that – after all, it is at least as fun to remain that mysterious princess for many. Although we do hope that we will see more of her fabulous fashion excesses in the near future…
