How to put together your outfit for the Eras tour

Are you ready for it? This week is finally here! On July 4, 5 and 6, Taylor Swift’s spectacular Eras tour will come to Amsterdam. Do you have tickets but don’t know what to wear? Don’t panic, because with these outfit tips your outfit will never go out of style.

Choose your favorite era

Taylor Swift has an extensive discography. With no less than eleven albums, there is plenty of choice when it comes to outfits. If you don’t really know what to wear, you can start by thinking about your favorite era. Which album appeals to you the most? When you know this, you can easily come up with a nice outfit that matches this album. For example, is your favorite era Reputation? Then go for outfits with snake prints, leather and a dark vibe. For Red, a red outfit is of course a no brainer. And for Folklore or Evermore, you can put together a cottage core outfit. The choice is huge, but whatever you choose, the outfit is undoubtedly timeless.

Recreate an outfit Taylor previously wore

Taylor has worn a lot of different iconic outfits in her long career. Think of looks she wore on red carpets or in music videos. If there is a specific outfit of Taylor that you really like, now is the time to recreate it. For example, go for the red dress from the music video of I Bet You Think About Me or the look she wore to the Grammys this year. You can even recreate an outfit Taylor wore during the Eras tour, who knows, you might match!

Get inspired by song lyrics

All Swifties know that Taylor Swift is known for her lyrics. She is a writer and a true storyteller (and a tortured poet). There are many ways to incorporate the lyrics into your outfit. For example, are you going with your bestie? Then go together as sunshine and midnight rain from the song Midnight Rain. Or go together with your partner dressed as Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince. Or how about poison ivy and daisy from Don’t Blame Me.

Focus on your favorite song

For many Swifties, it feels like an impossible task to pick a favorite song, there are just too many. But if you do manage to pick a favorite, you can also base your outfit on it. For example, go all out in silver glitter for Mirrorball or combine a green dress with leaves for Ivy. There are so many fun ways to turn your favorite song into a unique outfit for the Eras tour.

Wear comfortable shoes to the Eras tour!

We know that your shoes are also an important part of your outfit. But remember that the Eras tour is a very long concert where you will probably be standing and dancing the whole time. So choose shoes that are comfortable and that you know will not hurt. If you still go for those cool cowboy boots, break them in properly first!

Take a moment to think about your accessories

Your Eras tour outfit is of course not complete without the right accessories. Think of a thirteen on your hand, an arm full of friendship bracelets and any other extras. Keep in mind that your outfit cannot block the view of other Swifties in the Arena. A cowboy hat is super fun for photos, but take it off when the show starts. Also consider your bag. Your bag should not be too big. Go for a small, compact bag that fits all your essentials. There are quite strict rules for the Eras tour, so read them carefully before you go.
