The new season of Heel Holland Bakt has only just started. You would think: the ten new participants are completely ready! They probably all are, although unfortunately Peter (64) is not having his day. The oldest participant of the season bumbles through the episode, which provides entertainment and compassion among the viewers. Aww..
Peter in Heel Holland Bakt
The popular TV program Heel Holland Bakt started again on Sunday evening, and this year season 11 will start again. Of course, as usual, with presenter André van Duijn, culinary journalist Janny van der Heijden and master pastry chef Robèrt van Beckhoven. The last two will once again judge the baked goods of ten new master bakers in the making this season. And it is a nice mix of people, consisting of Aruna (46), Carla (58), Dennis (34), Pien (24), Rudo (34), Rachida (37), Sandra (51), Susan (45) , Tim (32) and Peter (64). The latter in particular grabs all the attention in the first episode, but unfortunately not in a very positive way. The Rotterdammer, who is a kitchen prince at home, appears to be slightly less good at baking. Even though he also does this with love for his partner Ines.
However, in episode 1 of Heel Holland Bakt, things don’t work out with Peter, who cuts his finger in no time. At that moment he is making a cake with pears, which he says is “derived from another expression”: sitting with the baked pears. Let this saying be very applicable to Peter, who later suffers rather unpleasant consequences from previous events. Aww…
Unlucky
Peter certainly shows that he belongs among the ten selected participants in Heel Holland Bakt. Although some viewers on social media channel Every time he is assessed, he hears that his pastries taste good. However, things still go wrong, for example because the cake is simply not done. Or Peter’s ‘Bossche bollen’, which should not actually be called ‘Bossche bollen’ according to Janny. Although they are just tasty. For him, the episode does not end in the spectacle that he, like his fellow bakers, hopes for.
As a spectacle, he would like to build a tree house out of financier cake. These are small, French almond cakes. The idea is for the cakes to go up. Peter succeeds at first, but then his entire building collapses at the last minute. Nooo! His fellow bakers still try to save it, but he gives up. Perhaps he should have listened to Janny, who had tipped him off about the stability of his cake. Oops… Due to the bumbling during all the assignments, unlucky Peter is the first to be eliminated. Shit! “It’s a shame that I’m the first to lose weight,” he says afterwards. But: “What dominates is the fantastic feeling that you participated.”

Back home after an episode.
Shame.
But it’s like that for everyone, Peter.
