Cheers!
Attention wine lovers! There’s a good chance that you too make a mistake when it comes to drinking a glass of white wine. That’s how it should be.
No cold wine
Choosing the right wine for a specific dish, choosing the right glass for the type of wine and so on… We all know it by now. Yet there is one mistake we all make, experts say. Do you prefer to drink your wine as cold as possible? Then you go wrong there. According to several sommeliers, white wine should not be cooled.
Serve fresh
“No wine should be served cold, not even white wine,” said Patrick Cappiello, in 2014 by Food & Wine Magazine was named ‘Sommelier of the Year’. “It’s a matter of very simple chemistry. The colder the wine, the more the molecules shrink. If you serve wine a little warmer, many more aromas will be released,” he explains Huffington Post.
Best temperature
However, you can serve white wine fresh. The best temperature for this is between 7 and 12 °C. At a temperature below 6° (as in most refrigerators) you reportedly taste little. Did you also know that it is best to hold a wine glass by the stem so that it does not have the chance to get warm?
