The Eurovision Song Contest song of ‘our’ entry for this year, Joost Klein (26), brings out some hatred. But you mainly see a lot of positive, happy reactions to the happy hardcore song. On Thursday evening he brought Europapa live for the first time in 013 Tilburg and the visitors responded enthusiastically to the entire concert (and the first live performance of his Eurovision song). According to them, it bodes well for the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö. Ooh!
First ‘Europapa’ live performance by Joost Klein
In total, the 26-year-old Frisian singer Joost Klein will give only two concerts for his Eurovision Song Contest adventure. And the first concert, including the Eurovision Song Contest song Europapa, took place on Thursday evening at pop stage 013 in Tilburg. This concert and the concert taking place tonight, Friday March 15, are both completely sold out. And that is apparently very justified, because the reactions to his concert are extremely positive. Wow! Good reactions to his live performance in 013 are pouring in on social media. In total, he sang the Eurovision song Europapa twice during his Prince of Europe concert, both at the beginning and at the end.
Energetic party in 013
And the reactions to Europapa’s first live performance and the rest of Joost’s concert are all positive. The 013 visitors react enthusiastically to his concert. “Joost Klein was BOLD, I have no words for it,” someone writes on social media channel X, for example, while another says: “What a rollercoaster, what inexhaustible positive energy that boy has!” Many people also have hope for a good result during the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden. “Here’s your winner,” writes one visitor, among other things. And someone else thinks it’s a shame that the Eurovision Song Contest performance will only last three minutes: “It was 90 minutes of energy, poetry and an exciting show.”
Sodeju, great concert by #joostklein attended in #poppodium013! That guy brings party, harmony and love into one! #eurovision2024 here’s your winner! Everyone can use Joost in their life. 🙏🏼🇪🇺

It’s almost a shame that Europe only gets 3 minutes of Joost Klein. Because it was 90 minutes of energy, poetry and an exciting show. And it’s great that he will soon let many new viewers (his own fans) discover 31 to 36 other songs and the power of Eurovision.

Telephone ban
In case you are now thinking: where are images of Joost’s Europapa’s first live performance? Then unfortunately we have to disappoint you: the images are not available yet. There was a smartphone and smartwatch ban during Joost’s concert in 013 Tilburg on Thursday evening. Ah! However, the reason is understandable: recordings were made “for Joost himself”, according to a spokesperson for AVROTROS. A lot of preparations were made for this and the concert even started half an hour later. As a result, there was a very long line in front of the music venue in advance. Fortunately, the audience got a lot in return.
Joost sang Europapa more than once: at least at the beginning and again later, while he stood in the middle of the room. Images were then taken there and according to visitor and Twitterer GJ Kooijman During that moment a mosh pit also arose in the hall. Joost even went crowd surfing. Awesome! The images are for a live video clip by Europapa, possibly to promote the Eurovision Song Contest song. Although GJ Kooijman says in an interview with WNL: “But what else he has planned… With Joost you never know.”
