Máxima has just opened the head office of DSM-Firmenich in Maastricht. In 2023, the Dutch DSM merged with the Swiss Firmenich. The new company is active in the areas of health, nutrition, personal care and perfumery.
The meeting started with a speech by the CEO of DSM-Firmenich, followed by the master perfumer who explained his work. In a panel discussion, the King’s Commissioner in the province of Limburg, the mayor and the children’s mayor of Maastricht discussed the importance of companies such as DSM-Firmenich for the region and the city.
Queen Máxima subsequently opened the head office, after which she was given a tour. The building is a combination of a historic building and new construction that meets the highest sustainability requirements. During the tour, Máxima received an explanation about various aspects of construction. In addition, the innovative applications of a number of products were presented. The company has four divisions: Taste, Texture and Health; Nutrition and Care; Perfumery and Beauty; Animal Nutrition and Health. Finally, the Queen spoke with a number of company employees.
dsm-firmenich has approximately 30,000 employees worldwide and is active in almost 60 countries. There is a head office in Maastricht and in Kaiseraugust, Switzerland. The head office of the Taste, Texture and Health division is located on the Biotech Campus Delft.

Máxima did not have to go shopping for the opening. Her white dress with green accents comes from fashion house Natan, the hat from Fabienne Delvigne.
The dress debuted in 2018 and has now been worn five times.
