Sarah Ferguson receives a lot of criticism after TV appearance

‘Fortunately the late Queen did not have to see this’

Sarah Ferguson is at home in almost all markets. The York Duchess writes, makes podcasts and YouTube videos, and of course does a fair amount of charity, and in the meantime has found time to give herself the title of ‘Super Granny’. Yet viewers of British morning show This Morning are not convinced by the Duchess.

Presenter

Yesterday morning Fergie made her presentation debut, writes Hello! Magazine. Alongside hosts, Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary, and all-knowing talker Gyles Brandreth, the Duchess took a seat at the table on the morning talk show. All kinds of topics were discussed here – from ‘the importance of defibrillators’ to ‘how to protect your skin’, and of course what it is like to spend your Christmas dinner at the Windsors’ table. The duchess also provided calling viewers with all kinds of life advice.

Sarah herself shared at the start of the show that she would act as ‘fluff’ next to her experienced fellow hosts, but it turned out that she was also closely involved in creating the program! The Duchess revealed: “As today’s guest editor, I’ve been working behind the scenes with the amazing team on some of the topics I care about most.”

Criticism

Although Sarah seemed to be having a great time at the table on the morning show, not everyone was convinced of the duchess’s presentation skills. Afterwards there are certainly some positive reactions to be read, but that’s not the case. For example, one fan writes: “What a shame that this is a one-off! The Duchess of York is fantastic on This Morning!”

But overall, there’s a lot of confusion about Sarah’s “awkward” presence on the show. In the Daily Mail, columnist Jan Moir even devotes an extensive piece to it, in which she certainly does not hide her opinion. “I want to be honest. And I want to be nice. But when it comes to the Duchess on live television, these two values cannot possibly go together,” she opens her column. A little further on she writes: “I am grateful that the late Queen passed away without having to watch her daughter-in-law recommend on TV to invest in naughty underwear to get ‘sexy back into your marriage’.” The Guardian gives the broadcast a paltry one star. “Sarah Ferguson’s love tips make a damned show even more disastrous,” the newspaper headlines. Oiii!

Many viewers also share on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, that they were not impressed by the duchess. “Regarding Sarah Ferguson on This Morning yesterday…I turned it off,” wrote one. Another shared: “Seriously? Sarah Ferguson dispensing romantic advice? Get this woman off my screen!”

New job

Although we know that Fergie is used to some criticism by now, the lack of enthusiasm about her appearance will not completely deter the Duchess, we guess. Last month we heard that there were serious plans to give the Duchess her own talk show in the United States.

Producer Amy Rosenblum then shared in an interview with The Daily Mail: “Sarah told me: I want my own talk show! I want my own talk show.” She continued: “About 15 years ago I shot a talk show pilot with Sarah.” Unfortunately, the two had to compete against Ellen Degeneres at the time and of course we all know how that turned out. “But, Sarah was really good at what she did. We’ve been friends ever since,” Rosenblum said. So the producer is convinced – now that the rest of the viewers still…
