Queen Máximas spoke this morning at the anniversary conference ‘Life Affordable’ of the National Institute for Budget Information (Nibud), which has been in existence for forty-five years.
The meeting was held in the Mediaplaza of the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. Queen Máxima spoke in her positions as honorary chair of the SchuldenlabNL foundation, the Financial Wiser platform and as special advocate of the UN Secretary General for inclusive financing for development.
In her speech, Queen Máxima discussed, among other things, the theme of financial health. Nibud has been working with SchuldenlabNL and Wijzer in financial matters for years to promote this. SchuldenlabNL scales up successful methods in municipalities for solving problematic debts and guiding people towards a debt-free future. A new theme is to stimulate a financial buffer to absorb financial risks. Partners of SchuldenlabNL are investigating accessible savings options to build up a buffer. In her UN position, Queen Máxima also advocates developing financial services and policies that contribute to financial resilience and financial health.

For the conference, Máxima took out a dress by Oscar de la Renta from the closet.
It is a design of dark blue crepe, with a fitted bodice, wide skirt and white flower applications.

The crossed earrings that Máxima is wearing today are new and belong to her recently introduced sapphire and diamond ring (right).
