So we see again: even the queen sometimes suffers from maternal worries.
Máxima is a style icon, honorary chairman of countless foundations and queen of the Netherlands, but also just a mother of three daughters. And that sometimes makes her quite insecure, she said yesterday during a working visit to Almere Haven.
Sensitive royal
In the past, it was not cool to show your feelings to the outside world as a royal, but in 2024 that is a different story. In fact, you score quite a few figurative bonus points when you talk about your personal life. Our Máx also seems to have understood this trend, because during a working visit she is particularly sensitive.
Outfit
Our queen traveled to Almere Haven yesterday. She did this in style, of course: for the occasion she dressed in a brown dress from the Greek brand Zeus + Dione, which she combined with her camel-colored Max Mara coat and a stylish pair of Stella McCartney boots.
Craft lesson
The focus of the visit was on the older residents of this part of the city, and the program was filled accordingly: after the daily dose of shaking hands and smiling, Máx simply started knitting and making needlework.
Motherly concerns
After the craft lesson, the queen visited an organization for extracurricular activities. During a modest speech, she also revealed something about her own concerns about motherhood. “As a parent, I always have the fear: does my child have the right friends? Don’t they end up in the wrong groups? Are they doing the right things?”, says Máxima.
This is not the first time that the queen has spoken out about being a mother. In a conversation with royalty reporter Rick Evers, she revealed that she sometimes finds it quite difficult to listen carefully to her A’s. “I do my best, but that means there are sometimes difficult moments. And that’s normal, and that’s okay.”
