You know how it is: you have thoroughly cleaned the entire house, but you keep seeing a new spot. Tiring, right? You don’t need to clean these things more than once a year.
1. Clean curtains
You really don’t have to do this every week or every month. You can carefully wash your curtains yourself, but you can also take them to a dry cleaner. If you wash them, just know that it is a process to make them look as good as new along the window.
2. Garden furniture
Just before summer it is wise to give your garden furniture a good makeover. After all, you’re going to be sitting on them all summer, and then of course they shouldn’t be dirty. Fortunately, it is unnecessary to do this in the winter if you are not using them anyway. Use a dash of dishwashing liquid and a bowl of water and clean everything with it. You can also opt for the garden hose, then you have a cleaning day and water fun in one. During the cold months, make sure that the cushions are stored dry, otherwise they may become moldy.
3. Carpet
It is best to have this cleaned by a professional, but there are also more and more products that allow even the most anti-cleaning queen to do it. A carpet cleaner works wonders, and you’ll definitely see the difference if you have pets or regularly walk on the floor with shoes on. Fortunately, you don’t have to do it every week, you can hardly see the difference (unless you make a stain or when it is cleaned).
4. Windows
You really don’t need to clean your windows every week, unless there are a lot of birds around. In addition, you often have to be a little higher on the outside than the inside. Once a year, use a long brush to clean the hard-to-reach areas and use a lint-free cloth for a streak-free effect. Do you not like it at all now? Then you always have a window cleaner who will do the job for you.
5. Gutter
At some point the gutter becomes clogged, and that is precisely the moment when it needs to be cleaned. After all, you don’t want flooding or water damage due to the accumulating leaves that have fallen into the gutter. You can hire a professional for this, but you can also do it yourself by climbing the ladder. It’s not a lot of work, but it does have to be done once a year.
