Are you from the British royals? Then you are probably completely up to date with the popular royal series ‘The Crown’. And although we all want to feel like a real royal, the makers of the series can make this dream come true. Because guess what? The Crown is auctioning off iconic pieces from their production.
Auction
You read that right: the costume and set team of the iconic Netflix series is sweeping through their archives and putting a large number of props up for sale. In total there are approximately 450 pieces that have been shown in the series. Auction house Bonhams can manage this mega sale.
Costumes and sets
This is not about a selection of small items that were on screen for a fraction of a second on the body of an extra. No: during the auction, the replica of the Golden State Coach and the Coronation Chair will go under the hammer, among other things. If you still have room in the garage or at the dining table: The carriage is expected to sell for around £30,000 to £50,000, and the coronation chair is expected to sell for £10,000 to £20,000.
No room for complete set pieces? No worries! There are also quite a number of costumes for sale. For example, the outfit that Claire Foy wore as Queen Elizabeth at her coronation will be auctioned, the blue engagement outfit of Diana, then played by Emma Corrin, will go on sale (engagement ring sold separately, with an estimated value between two thousand and three thousand pounds ), and….

…The iconic revenge dress, which the team recreated especially for actress Elizabeth Debicki. How iconic do you want it to be? Furthermore, the door of 10 Downing Street and a set of corgi figurines are also being sold. A complete overview can be found on the Bonhams website.
In a short trailer, some of the creatives behind the series talk about all the time and energy they put into bringing the smallest details to life:
Exhibition
If you have your credit card ready right away, we will have to wait a little longer until that time comes. The various pieces will go under the hammer online between January 30 and February 8 next year, and another sale will take place on location in London on February 7.
If your pockets are not deep enough to bag such a coveted replica, the items will be exhibited in various places prior to the auction. Fortunately, admiring it up close is an option!
