From abstract couture to glamorous works of art!
The eyes of everyone in the fashion world were focused on the ever-stylish Paris this week. The catwalks were filled with the most beautiful, artistic, and special haute couture looks. Of course, here at the shared editorial offices of Glamial, Marie Claire, and Grazia, we have our own favorites. We’ve listed them for you!
Iris van Herpen
For Marie Claire’s online chef, Sabine, the choice was easy: Iris van Herpen was a clear favorite! “To describe Iris van Herpen’s Haute Couture show as a spectacle feels like an understatement. The Dutch designer chose not to present her collection through a traditional catwalk show, but to turn it into an exhibition.”

“It’s hard to pick just one look from her Hybrid show, which featured models pinned to canvas in gorgeous, flowing, futuristic gowns. If I really have to choose (I have to, right?), I’d go with the Umwelt gown. The thousands of gradient pearls and butterfly-like statement sleeves make it an eye-catcher. And compliments to model Gia Bab, pinned to canvas and showing off the gown with such elegance, can’t be easy.”
Schiaparelli
Glamial’s own online coordinator Sandy didn’t have to think long either: “There was one runway this past week that I honestly watched with my mouth open, and that was Schiaparelli. The label is celebrating its heyday again under Daniel Roseberry and their Haute Couture presentation this week was no exception.”

“The show was called The Phoenix, and themes such as breaking down, rebuilding, rebirth and continuous reinvention were clearly visible. My favorite design is undoubtedly the voluminous black look – in photo 6 above – which, with a little peek-a-boo, reveals plenty of light pink stones on both the lining of the dress and the equally embroidered stockings. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes!”
Viktor & Rolf
Just like Sabine, Grazia’s online chef Christel also opts for home-grown couture: “With their Haute Couture Fall-Winter 2024/2025 Paris show, Viktor & Rolf shows how to take shoulder padding to the next level. And I’m here for it!”

“With all the striking creations that passed the runway, the brand knows how to leave a deep impression. The looks were all works of art. The fact that Haute Couture is not exactly ready to wear does not bother me; I would like to wrap myself in this blazer with an eye-catching shape.”
Elie Saab
Grazia’s editor-in-chief Annelies opts for a look by Elie Saab: “This is no pussycat to handle without gloves! This look by Elie Saab combines a beautifully classic silhouette with edgy influences – it really is a great style clash.

“The tulle and sequins of the classic mermaid silhouette are a fantastic contrast to the edgy leather gloves. Elie Saab shows fantastically that as a glamor woman you can also appear very powerful – without immediately becoming very chaste.”
