4. Cut down on alcohol…
Every year we come up with a list of good intentions in good spirits. Conclusion on December 31, a year later? Let’s try this again next year… These resolutions seem to fail most often and are therefore better not to make.
‘Bad’ good intentions
1. Eat healthier
Want to exchange sausage rolls and fries for salads and other healthy food? Always sounds like a good idea, until you have to put it into practice.
2. Exercise three times a week
If you are going for a fitter life, why not go all in? By exercising three times a week you set the bar quite high and there is a good chance that your motivation will disappear very quickly. Sure, making concrete intentions is a lot better than a vague ‘exercise more often’, but it must also remain feasible.
3. Stress less
We know how good that is for you. But unfortunately it is not something you can start doing overnight. Good things take time.
4. Cut down on alcohol
Dry January is a household name, but perhaps not the best month to reduce your alcohol consumption. It’s a shame to wash those leftover champagne from the holidays down the sink…
5. Save more money
Money must flow. That’s just how it is.
6. Quit smoking
Things often go wrong for smokers at five past twelve. But! A good intention indeed. Definitely try.
7. Learn a new language
Broadening your horizons often takes more time than you think.
8. Falling in love
Not exactly something you can enforce. You will automatically bump into your prince on a white horse!
9. Less social media
It’s already a difficult one anyway (scrolling through your feed is addictive), but it doesn’t get any easier now that our real-life social contacts are limited.
