According to Bunte, the 1974 world champion had already written his will together with a notary in February last year. Franz is said to leave behind an estimated fortune of around 80 million euros. His widow Heidi should receive the right of approval for the sale of his real estate. His youngest children Joel and Francesca Beckenbauer will also receive large shares of the inheritance. The sports icon’s older sons have long been financially independent of their father.
His ex-girlfriend Diana Sandmann recently dedicated touching words to Franz. “The years with him were wonderful. The time we had together was very formative. I don’t want to miss a second of it. This closeness, this love, death cannot take that away,” the artist told Bild.
