‘There’s no stamp on it yet!’
This summer she will board a plane with her five dogs, two cats and three kids. After four easy-going years on Bonaire, Nicolette Kluijver (39) will settle down in the Netherlands again. A new phase begins, including new love. In an interview with Glamial, she gives us a glimpse of what she is going through.
Changing course
Nicolette has been changing course lately. First literally in the RTL program Over de Oceaan, where she crosses the ocean with a number of fellow celebrities on a sailing ship. And soon she will board a plane with her ex-husband, children and animal gang to return to the Netherlands. The past four years the family has led a relaxed life on Bonaire, but it is time for a new chapter. And that is quite exciting.
Nicolette will settle in Aalsmeer, her oldest daughter will go to high school and for the first time in a long time a co-parenting plan is needed. Fortunately, the presenter is not alone. Since the beginning of this year she has been dating again!
New love
Of course, we also ask Nicolette about her new love: Milan. She met him during her time on Bonaire, through a charity event that he and his colleagues had organised. Is he secretly one of the reasons she is returning to the Netherlands? “He works as a soldier in the Airmobile Brigade and has an adventurous life just like mine. Because of his work, I often can’t reach him. Then he’ll be lying in a field somewhere for three days. He’s not the reason I’m moving back to the Netherlands, but it is very nice that we are closer to each other.”
“It’s really nice when we’re together and I’m not dating anyone else, so what do you call something like that?” She then laughs: “It’s like a conversation with a psychologist now with you guys haha.”
“Before this I always said that we were in the exploratory phase. That has become a strange word, because we know each other very well now.” However, there is no official relationship yet. “I celebrate Christmas and Easter very traditionally and in that respect I would like it if we put a stamp on it. But that stamp has not yet been put on.”
Romantic
There is no shortage of romance! She shares: “Recently he gave me a wooden sign with the word ‘Bonaire’ on it. Only later did I find out that he had drilled a hole in it with a secret note in it.”
“He also left some stones on Bonaire during a hike I often do. Every time I walked that path, I came across another stone on which he had written something sweet.” Aww! With that much romance, it has to be okay, right?
