Rubens Barrichello and Michael were once competitors on the racing track. After his accident, his ex-colleague wanted to pay him a visit, but he was advised against it, as he now reveals. “They told me that unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to help and that I might be sad,” recalls the Brazilian former Formula 1 star in the “Flow” podcast. Rubens understood that – but he met Schumi’s family more often.

His wife Corinna (54) decided this, especially for his protection. “The family wants to maintain a certain level of secrecy and I respect their wishes. They are doing this all for the good of Michael,” explained Michaels former colleague Luca Badoer told The Sun.
