From football matches to couture looks: denim is always possible!
This spring we will of course again be looking to the royals for a good dose of fashion inspiration. And guess what? They have embraced the double denim look en masse. Move over Britney and Justin!
Luxury in denim
Although denim once became popular among miners, soldiers and workers, it is now also a fabric that even the most iconic couture houses run away with. So last weekend we saw not one, but two Monegasque princesses in a full denim outfit.
For example, Charlotte Casiraghi was completely dressed in Chanel during the F1 qualifying: from her jeans and jacket to the classic pumps with a block heel and sunglasses. And we don’t blame her – this look is as comfortable as it is stylish, and it suits her beautifully!

Sister-in-law Beatrice Borromeo, who has been a regular at Dior for several years, also showed up in a denim outfit. Here we immediately see how versatile this trend is, as the silhouette and dark wash of this dress give the look an elegant finish.

The trend has also gained ground outside Monaco. Crown Princess Marie Chantal of Greece also recently showed up in an elegant denim dress.

This denim dress with its lovely statement sleeves comes from Gabriela Hearst, as style expert Royal Fashion Police reports on Instagram. If you want to put this dress on your wishlist now, you better have saved up your holiday money. This look costs around 2300 euros. That’s a bit different than your average pair of jeans!
Casual outfits
Moreover, the necessary casual outfits cannot be missing from this list. For example, last Wednesday we saw Princess Mette-Marit make an appearance in a nice comfortable double denim outfit, when she encouraged her men at the annual football match at Skaugum Stadium.

By the way, her highness still wore her Cartier ring and Saint Laurent sunglasses. Still a luxurious edge for this casual outfit down the line!
Zara Tindall has also discovered the double denim trend. For example, two weeks ago she not only appeared at the Badminton Horse Trials in her riding outfit, but she also showed up in classic skinny jeans with a denim blouse from ba&sh. In the video below you can see her briefly with husband Mike Tindall:

Denim accent
Is such a head-to-toe look not really your thing? Then we don’t want to deprive you of this nice denim touch from Princess Beatrice. She appeared a week ago in this nice Alice + Olivia jacket during a visit to a school in Croydon.

And the princess also realized that this jacket is a real winner! So she wore it again a few days later at the Monaco Grand Prix. This was evident from a snapshot – photo five in the carousel below – that presenter Natalie Pinkham shared via Instagram.

So you see: denim is always possible. From Grand Prix to football match and from couture house to casual outfit. We predict many more royal denim looks in the coming weeks. Who knows, might our own Maxima be next?
