What a picture!
Yesterday was a happy day for Princess Margriet. His Highness had the honor of opening the anniversary edition of the Keukenhof international flower exhibition in Lisse. And of course that included a colorful outfit.
75 years of Keukenhof
The enchanting flower fields at the Keukenhof are not unknown territory for Margriet. As a little princess, she was already present at the official opening of the world-famous park 75 years ago. Her mother, Queen Juliana, was patron of the Keukenhof at the time. What started as a small flower exhibition in 1950 has now grown into a world attraction that is visited by 1.4 million people every year.
Colorful outfit
Yesterday the Keukenhof celebrated its 75th anniversary, and Princess Margriet had the honor of opening it. Our favorite senior royal – wise as she is – had cleverly avoided the risk of being overshadowed by the flower fields by appearing in an extremely colorful outfit.

The princess wore a bright red trench coat with a colorful scarf, striking earrings and matching hair decoration. Margriet only seems to become more stylish with age. Well, what do you want: 81 years of royal fashion experience has to do something with your style, nun?
Restored
In August last year we were shocked by the news that Margriet had been admitted to hospital due to an acute spinal hernia. As a result, the usually cheerful princess had to temporarily resign from her royal duties. A period of ups and downs followed, during which she occasionally worked, but at other times took her well-deserved rest. Since March 13, it seems that Princess Beatrix’s sister has resumed her work and is completely up and running again. Wonderful to see that she is still enjoying royal life so much in her old age!
