A dress you will never forget!
Princess Mabel experienced an emotional moment last weekend. The widow of Prince Friso saw her wedding dress again almost twenty years later in a very special place. And that reunion naturally caused the princess some emotions.
Wedding day
On April 24, it will be exactly twenty years ago that Prince Friso and Princess Mabel promised their eternal loyalty to each other in the Oude Kerk in Delft. The beginning of a fairy tale, but also of something that would become a very sad story. Yet we continue to look back on a beautiful day when two people who love each other said yes.
Special dress
On her big day, Mabel wore a dress that many royalty watchers will not soon forget. The princess walked to the altar in a bow-strewn wedding dress with a train of no less than three meters long.

The design was made by her good friends Viktor & Rolf. Now, almost twenty years later, the same duo has taken care of the dress again. Mabel’s wedding dress will be exhibited in the Kunsthalle in Munich until October 6.
Emotional moment
Of course, Mabel also took a look at the exhibition herself. The princess told Dutch Vogue what this moment meant to her.

“It’s fantastic to see the dress again,” said Mabel. “It is very nice that the dress is now shown at this beautiful exhibition by Viktor & Rolf of their work from the past thirty years. It does make me emotional. Beautiful dress, I still think.”

On her own Instagram profile, Mabel encourages people to view the exhibition. “It was wonderful to see my wedding dress at the beautiful Viktor & Rolf Fashion Statements exhibition,” the princess wrote. “You can see the beautiful dress and many other great Viktor & Rolf works of art from the past 30 years in the Kunsthalle in Munich.”
