It is a beauty of a dress, but unfortunately until now it has only been worn on occasions with little to no photo opportunities. That’s why I’m extra happy that Máxima chose her purple-red dress by Claes Iversen this afternoon.
The Queen presented the 2023 Cultural Fund Prize this afternoon in the Zuidplein Theater in Rotterdam the theater collective Female Economy. The Cultural Fund awards this prize of 100,000 euros annually to a person or institution with a special significance for culture or nature.
Queen Máxima attended the awards ceremony program, with performances and speakers involved with the Cultural Fund and the winner of the Cultural Fund Prize. She then presented the prize and entered into discussions with those involved.
Previous winners include the Anne Frank Foundation (2022), IVN Nature Education (2021), ISH Dance Collective (2020) and Vereniging De Hollandsche Molen (2019). The Cultural Fund invests more than 40 million euros annually in the future of culture and nature. Every year, more than 3,500 culture and nature projects throughout the Netherlands, the Caribbean part of the Kingdom and Suriname receive a financial contribution.

For the festive occasion, Máxima took out a previously worn Claes Iversen dress from the closet. A good choice if you ask me, because the purple dress with red neckline and lace applications covering the transition did not show up well during the previous wearing moments. So this rematch came at just the right time!
