In the popular TV program Married At First Sight, the friendly Dirk (67) unfortunately has little luck. He is paired with Anneke (60), but in no time they turn out to be a mismatch. Because of all the drama surrounding their marriage, Anneke also receives a lot of criticism, but that is not the case for Dirk. He even gets a new date from the MAFS adventure! Wait, what?
Dirk from Married At First Sight is dating
At first, Dirk and Anneke seem like a good match in Married At First Sight. Things go well between the two until they go on their honeymoon together. Immediately upon arrival, cracks appear in the new marriage, especially through Anneke. Dirk does not quite meet her ‘wish list’, especially in terms of appearance. Anneke has no feelings for Dirk and actually wants to give up soon. Only she keeps it up because she doesn’t want to hurt him either. However, the wedding is ultimately called off before returning to the Netherlands. Anneke actually wanted to say ‘no’ at the altar at the time. Early relationship
Dirk’s ‘early relationship’ is confirmed to Story magazine by his new date. And it turns out that she is not even a very unknown person: she is even something of a celebrity. MAFS participant Dirk is currently dating the famous writer Patty Harpenau. She is a writer of mainly spiritual books and has written more than forty books in her career, including the international bestseller The Life Codes. Besides being quite famous herself, she also has a perhaps more famous son, singer Dotan. Ah! And now Patty is dating Dirk from Married At First Sight, whom she actually knows through the TV program. “When I saw how Anneke raged at him, I thought: it will happen to you!” she tells Story. She then contacted him in no time via Facebook. Aww!
Listening ear
Patty became completely interested in Dirk through Married At First Sight and wondered if everything was going well with him. That then led to a telephone conversation and the creation of a new, loving connection. She invited him to her home, just for a good chat. Although it was a conversation between two singles, because Patty was also alone after a broken engagement with ex Michiel. Patty turned out to be the listening ear that Dirk needed. “He told me a lot,” she says of the first meeting. At that moment she also saw “how nice, kind, friendly and sociable” he is and certainly not a lonely man. “An asset for every woman,” says Patty. Sweet! Let’s hope this is a better woman for Dirk.
