A sweet reunion!
Princess Leonor is currently in Zaragoza, where she is studying at the Military Academy. Her parents must miss her at home, but yesterday they were finally able to hold their (not so) little girl in their arms again. Letizia and Felipe visited the academy to commemorate the anniversary of King Felipe’s military promotion. And of course a mini-reunion with Leonor was inevitable.
Military education
After obtaining her International Baccalaureate from the same prestigious boarding school as our Alexia, Leonor continued military training in Zaragoza. Last summer was an emotional farewell to her family, and the Spanish princess has now been away from home for almost a year. Fortunately, this does not mean that she no longer sees her parents and sister at all, because Leonor regularly appears at all kinds of royal events throughout the year. In military uniform, that is.
Reunification
Yet it was not just Leonor who came to visit her parents. In March, father Felipe traveled to Zaragoza to visit the princess. This weekend he did that again together with Letizia. The primary purpose of the visit was the anniversary of the Spanish king’s military promotion, during which he swore allegiance to the flag for the third time. And while the other cadets had no reunion with their parents this weekend, things were of course slightly different for Princess Leonor.
H&M dress
Felipe and Letizia took the opportunity to spend an evening with their daughter. The group took place in a restaurant in Zaragoza.

Not ready yet
Anyway: Leonor, Felipe and Letizia seem to have had a nice weekend. And anyone who thinks that Leonor’s time at the Military Academy is almost over is wrong: the princess still has a year in the Spanish Navy and a year in the Spanish Air Force ahead of her. Let’s hope that some more ‘coincidental’ visits are planned during that time…
