‘I don’t mind a little injection here and there.’
We know the lady as an influencer and presenter, entrepreneur and stylist. We are of course talking about Jaimie Vaes. With almost 400,000 followers on Instagram, many people can watch her life in Ibiza, together with her son Lío. In her latest column for Grazia, the outspoken lady shares her view on beauty. Naturally and from within, or with the help of an injection here or there.
True beauty
True beauty comes from within, we’ve all heard that saying. Jaimie certainly agrees. “I certainly believe in that, because first and foremost, beauty for me is about taking good care of myself, eating healthy, eating my portions of fruit and vegetables, exercising a lot and drinking enough water,” she writes in the column for Grazia. She finds nutrition important and a basis for her beauty. In addition to healthy food, Jaimie is also a big supporter of good skincare. “That is really necessary when you are over thirty. I am a big fan of BLOY’s LABAREAU products – and no, we do not have a collaboration! It’s just a miracle product, my skin is soft and looks so good since I started using it,” says Jaimie.
Facials and massages
We quickly associate a nice tan with a healthy appearance. Although Jaimie also likes to walk around with sun-kissed skin, she is also aware of the damage it can cause. “I like to lie in the sun, I feel better with a tan on my face. But yes, the sun also causes damage, so that is why I think it is extra important to apply a lot,” she explains. To preserve her skin, she does not skip beauty treatments for both face and body. “I go to connective tissue massage every week and spend a lot of time with infrared and light therapies for my skin condition. I regularly take a facial, although you shouldn’t do that if you go out in the sun, because then you can get hyperpigmentation. And I am a big fan of the Fontona 4D laser, which ensures smooth and healthy skin. I also recently started using Morpheus 8 for tighter skin. I sometimes hear people say that lasers do not help, but I believe that these types of treatments in combination with a healthy lifestyle really do prevent skin aging.”
Fillers and botox
And give nature a helping hand? According to Jaimie, there is nothing wrong with that. “I’m also not averse to a little injection here and there, although I only use a little Botox and Profhilo for my face,” she writes. Profhila are hyaluronic acid injections that give the skin a vitamin boost. Fillers said goodbye to Jaimie a while ago. “I thought the extra volume gave me a plump face. When you are younger, you still try to conform to a certain image of beauty and sometimes you can go a bit too far in that direction.” These ideals also change over time. For example, Jaimie no longer wants the lip fillers she used to have. Jaimie believes that everyone should do what they like, even though she now prefers a natural look.
The fillers that Jaimie is still very happy with are the ones in her buttocks. “Some people have beautiful, round buttocks, but unfortunately I don’t have that,” Jaimie writes. Of course we can go to the gym to train our buttocks, but for some people it is simply not possible. “If you exercise a lot and enjoy running, like me, the volume on your buttocks is the first to disappear. I have never made a secret of the fact that I had those fillers injected, and if necessary, I would do it again,” says Jaimie. “I don’t need a big, vulgar butt, but if you’re not completely happy with something, I don’t mind helping nature a little.”
