It’s the anniversary of a devastating day. On December 29, 2013, shocking news went around the world: Michael Schumacher (54) fell badly on a skiing trip with his son and suffered a traumatic brain injury. Since then, there has been little information about his health and his family has remained silent. It’s now been ten years since the accident and fans are wondering what’s going on with Schumi. These things are currently known about his condition.
As Bild reports, the 54-year-old was put into an artificial coma after his fall. Six months later, his manager shared Sabine Kehm (59) that he had woken up. First of all be Michael was then treated at the University Hospital in Lausanne. He has been recovering at home since September 2014. A special hospital room was set up in his former office, where he was cared for by around 15 helpers, physiotherapists and doctors. It is not clear whether he can speak or move. Only his family and a few close friends know about it, as only they are allowed to visit Schumi.
The situation is still very difficult for the racing driver’s confidants, as his brother Ralf (48) recently made clear in an interview with the newspaper. “Michael is not only my brother, but when he was younger he was also my coach and mentor. He taught me everything about karting. I miss mine Michael from back then,” he described and added sadly: “Life is sometimes unfair. Michael “I had been lucky many times in my life, but then this tragic accident happened.”
