Queen Silvia of Sweden (80) enjoys her special day! The German-born monarch founded a large family in recent decades. She and her husband, King Carl Gustaf of Sweden (77), have three children – who in turn already have a lot of offspring of their own. The Heidelberg native already has eight grandchildren. And with these she is now celebrating a special party: Because Silvia is 80 years old today!
On Instagram on Saturday, the Swedish royal family shared several photos in honor of the queen. In addition to a new official portrait of the brunette, followers also get an insight into the birthday party – because they are throwing Silvia’s grandchildren! In one photo, all eight of them blow out the candles on a lavish cake. “Happy 80th birthday, Grandma!” is the loving message.
Judging by the photos, the whole family has already gathered in Sweden to celebrate Christmas together. Among them is Princess Madeleine (41) with her offspring – the beauty otherwise lives in the USA with her husband and children. On Friday she posted a photo of the royal children online and wrote: “The cousins are reunited!”
