On Sunday morning he was spotted with his wife Camilla on their way to St. Mary Magdalene Church.
After the positive news that King Charles had recovered well from his prostate surgery, HRH unfortunately also received less good news: he was diagnosed with cancer. Yesterday he spoke for the first time since the diagnosis and expressed his gratitude for all the messages of support. Then the British king was even spotted on Sunday on his way to the church service at St. Mary Magdalene Church.
First comment
On Sunday morning, Charles expressed his gratitude for all the messages of support on the royal family’s Instagram account. He writes: “I would like to express my sincere thanks for the many expressions of support and wishes I have received in recent days. As anyone who has dealt with cancer knows, such kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement.”

He also calls it ‘heart-warming’ that his own diagnosis has increased ‘public understanding’ of the disease and brought attention to the work of organizations for patients and their families. “My lifelong admiration for their tireless care and dedication is made all the greater by my own personal experience,” he said.
To the church
And although Charles is said to be taking rest at Sandringham, the king appears to be feeling well enough to attend the Sunday service at St Mary Magdalene Church. He was spotted walking to church alongside his wife Camilla.
His Majesty had pulled out a neat woolen coat for the occasion. Underneath he wore gray trousers with suede chestnut-colored shoes. Camilla also looked as neat as ever and appeared in a beautiful cream-colored coat with a warm hat made of (faux) fur on her head.

King Charles chose to stay at Sandringham during his treatment, most likely because this location offers him more privacy. But of course you are never completely alone as the head of the British monarchy. The king and his wife Camilla waved to the photographers who had gathered around Sandringham to catch a glimpse of the monarch.

Visit Harry
Although Charles has postponed all his public duties, he was also spotted outside meeting Prince Harry last week. His youngest son flew in from the US after the news of his father’s cancer diagnosis. With relations between the Sussexes and the rest of the Windsors having cooled considerably, this abrupt trip from Harry to London is seen by many royalty watchers as a possible step towards reconciliation. For example, The Spectator writes that Charles would have personally ensured that he could inform his sons, brothers and sister before the news was made public.
Who knows what this means for the relationship between the court of Montecito and the home front in London!
