The latest season of Buying Without Looking is packed with surprises! The first episode kicked off with Mayra, who had the scoop as the very first solo candidate ever. But last night’s episode with the colorful family of Melle, Berend, Sanna and their son Elio is also downright unique.
Not one but two homes
The rainbow family from Utrecht divides the care fairly between both parents and enjoys holidays and family days together. Purchasing agent Alex van Keulen managed to find not one, but two homes in Arnhem for the rainbow family. One for Melle and Berend and a separate house for Sanna. Both just a stone’s throw from each other. In Buying Without Looking: Settled, they look back on this adventure full of surprises and new starts.
Retro atmosphere with Miami vibes
When she saw Melle and Berend’s mood board, interior stylist Roos Reedijk immediately knew that she could go wild with color. Roos describes the two’s new house as a mix of retro atmosphere with Miami vibes, quite a mouthful. Melle and Berend are still very happy with their new place. And have they changed anything in the house in the meantime? “Yes, we moved Grandma’s chair from the bedroom to the living room.”
Perfect match in Buy Without Looking
Sanna is also still head over heels in love with her new home. “It’s like walking straight into your mood board,” she says. She emotionally thanks the Buy Without Looking team again. “It’s really admirable how people you don’t know can make such a perfect match.”
Striking chair
Although she is very enthusiastic about Roos’ work, there are still a few new additions to her living space. There is a striking chair in the middle of the room. “I had my eye on it for a while. When I saw that there was still room, I immediately purchased it.” And next to the sofa there is now a piece of furniture that was not seen in the episode: a shiny gold tea table. “Berend’s mother once brought him along to see if he would look nice here. And he stayed.”
A good neighbor
The most cherished memory? “That was definitely the first evening that Elio came to see his room here. We decided to have dinner here with Berend and Melle. We had to quickly find out how the oven worked, but our cutlery and plates were still missing.” Fortunately, Sanna’s neighbors were more than helpful. “I immediately contacted the neighbors on both sides to borrow some things so we could eat. A good neighbor is better than a distant friend.”
