It was not only students in the Netherlands who recently had to bite their nails whether they would be allowed to leave secondary school; The flag can also be displayed at different households in Norway. This also applies to the royal family, because Prince Sverre Magnus, the son of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit, has passed!
On the occasion of this happy news, the Norwegian court shares a beautiful photo of Prince Sverre Magnus, side-by-side with his undoubtedly proud parents:

“Congratulations to Prince Sverre Magnus for completing 13 years of schooling!📚✨,” the Norwegian court writes with the photo in which we see the royal trio smiling broadly.
School period
For the past three years, Sverre Magnus has been taking classes at Elvebakken High School in Oslo. This week it was time for the closing ceremony for the successful students, their families and their teachers in the Oslo Concert Hall. And of course the prince’s parents could not be missed. To celebrate the success of the students, various speeches were given and they walked a kind of solemn march.
Traditional costume
You may also have noticed that Sverre Magnus is wearing traditional Norwegian clothing. It is common to pull out these types of items for special occasions like this. His sister, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, previously received a Norwegian bunad as a gift from their grandparents after her confirmation. It is therefore likely that Prince Sverre Magnus also received this traditional clothing from his grandparents King Harald and Queen Sonja.
No king
It is still unclear what Sverre Magnus will focus on after his successes. In any case, he will not focus on preparing for the kingship, because he has no place in the succession to the throne. However, it would not have made much difference whether he did have a chance of becoming king of Norway. It works like this: until the early 1990s, male heirs had priority in the succession to the throne. This was then abolished for the next generation of royals, meaning that Prince Haakon was still in line for the throne ahead of Princess Märtha Louise, but sister Ingrid Alexandra did not have to make way for her younger brother.
And hey: a role as monarch is not everything, of course – and we estimate that the prince would have little interest in all the royal rules as heir to the throne. In any case, we are very curious to see what Sverre Magnus will show in the coming years, but for now we have to say: more gratuitous, your highness!
