She is a world improver on many fronts and since today she has another position. Princess Laurentien is guest editor-in-chief of the new Nouveau! This morning I was at the festive launch in Almere.
It felt a bit strange: a magazine with her name and face on it. She didn’t want to make herself smaller than she is, but she didn’t really need to be bigger either. Because her magazine was allowed to revolve around social problems and life lessons, Princess Laurentien decided to say ‘yes’ to being editor-in-chief. Fortunately, because in addition to a few nice interviews, there are also beautiful photos in the new Nouveau. Photographer Roger Neve and make-up artist Leco Zadelhoff have brought out the best in her.
The song features eleven ladies with an important message. One speaks about the consequences of the benefits affair, the other about social inclusion for the hearing impaired, and her own mother also speaks.
Speaking of Mrs. Brinkhorst: during the launch, Princess Laurentien spoke about her mother and her relationship to beauty. Laurentien: “When I was about four years old, I stood in front of her with my pink dress: ‘Mommy, am I beautiful?’ My mother then said: ‘Beauty comes from within.’ “Yes, but am I beautiful?” I asked again. For the second time she said, “Beauty comes from within.” I didn’t like that much at the time and neither did I in the years that followed.’ And then laughing: ‘But I didn’t have to take therapy for it either. Now I know: true beauty really comes from within.”

Nouveau also contains a double interview with Laurentien and her daughters. Unfortunately, Leonore could not be there this morning because of her studies abroad, but Eloise was there. On the sidelines, because the countess did not want to overshadow her mother. Given the high viewing and click figures surrounding her, a sympathetic and justified choice.
