Cheers! Today HM Queen Máxima can blow out 53 candles. A good time to look back on Máxima’s looks from the past year. We show you our five favorite outfits in which Her Majesty appeared.
Permanent designers
Every royal lady has her favorite clothing designers. For Princess Kate it is Alexander McQueen and Zara Tindall can regularly be seen in outfits from the Aquazurra brand. Our Queen, celebrating her birthday today, often puts the designs of the Dutch talents Jan Taminiau and Iris van Herpen in the spotlight. Her wardrobe is of course also full of pieces from the Belgian fashion house Natan.
May: Coronation of King Charles
With a white dress and headdress, Máxima showed herself at the coronation of King Charles. With a belt and an openwork neckline, the gown is detailed enough to wear without jewelry. The pointed, beige-colored mules make the outfit beautiful from head to toe.
June: Sailor
It’s been almost a year, but we still love the canary-colored gown the queen wore. She walked through the Zeeman like a bird of paradise. And of course this was not for shopping, but for a work visit. So chic.
November: Paris Musée des Arts Décoratifs
In a dress by, how could it be otherwise, Iris van Herpen. Together with the artist himself, Máxima opened the exhibition in the largest museum for decorative arts in Europe. Here she and the designer looked their best. With the golden details in the beautiful creation, you don’t even need to add an accessory. This outfit really comes into its own.
December: Christmas Music Gala
With the blue-gray silk skirt and matching blouse with a tie closure, Máxima appeared in a slightly more casual, but no less stylish outfit. Her Majesty appeared in a fairytale style at this cultural event.
October: Groningen
Long live the queen! We close with a bang, literally. The queen shone in the sun on a working visit with a T-shirt dress. The belt disappears on the right side of the orange colored Natan dress.
Party
While the whole of the Netherlands turns orange on the king’s birthday, we will not notice much of Queen Máxima’s birthday. Maybe she will get Natan’s dress from her wardrobe herself. A glass of bubbles on this beautiful sunny day cannot be missed today. Cheers Your Majesty, to your health!
