Nicolette Kluijver is back in town after living on Bonaire for four years. In a candid interview with Beau Monde, she tells all about her move, the impact on her children and co-parenting with her ex-partner.
New chapter in Aalsmeer
“After living on Bonaire for four years, I felt it was time for a new chapter,” says Nicolette Kluijver. “We are settling in Aalsmeer, my oldest daughter is starting high school there and we have to draw up a co-parenting arrangement for the first time in a long time. It is all quite exciting, but fortunately I am not alone.”

As if the move wasn’t enough, Nicolette also shares the hottest gossip about her love life. “I’ve been dating again since the beginning of this year,” she says enthusiastically. Nicolette met her new lover Milan on Bonaire. He works there as a soldier with the Airmobile Brigade. Talk about a power couple! “He has an adventurous life just like me, which sometimes means that we have a hard time reaching each other when he’s on a mission,” she adds. “Although his work is not the reason I’m returning to the Netherlands, it is of course very nice that we are now closer together.”

But are Nicolette and Milan now officially a couple? Nicolette says: “It’s really nice when we’re together and I don’t date others, so what do you call that?” she asks herself out loud. “We’re still in the exploratory phase, but we know each other really well by now.” Although she would like to put a label on their relationship, there isn’t one yet. But don’t worry, because the romance is bursting at the seams! Nicolette says that Milan gave her a wooden sign with ‘Bonaire’ on it, in the sign he secretly hid a love note in a hole. Cute! Milan also leaves stones with sweet messages for Nicolette during walks. Awww, how romantic is that?
