Your Highness had a great time in the sand.
Princess Charlene of Monaco was present in Corsica last Friday to participate in Water Safety Day. This is a crucial drowning prevention event organized by the Fondation Princesse Charlène.
Water Safety Day
This year was the fourth edition of Water Safety Day, which took place on the beach of Calvi. More than eighty participants aged 8-12 years from schools in the region took part in this edition.
The fact that the princess herself is committed to water safety is nothing new, as she and her foundation are always fully committed to safety on, in and around the water. Before Charlene met Prince Albert, she even volunteered as a swimming instructor in addition to her career as a professional athlete – of course, as a backstroke swimmer.
Workshops
During Water Safety Day, the children could participate in workshops on land and in the water. Rescue exercises, first aid and safety exercises were carried out, during which Her Serene Highness herself was also spotted listening attentively among the kids present. Afterwards, the children were presented with a diploma by the princess. Judging by the photos, it was a successful day!

Vice-President of the Monegasque Red Cross
In addition to having her own foundation for water safety, Charlene is also vice-president of the Monegasque Red Cross. In this role, she annually visits the newborn babies at the Princess Grace Hospital Center in Monaco. This hospital is named after the late Princess Grace, Prince Albert’s mother.
Another visit was also planned for Friday, May 31. During the visit, Charlene took a look at all the newly born babies in the department, and of course she was able to congratulate the new parents. She’s busy with all that charity!
