A lot of glamor in the far north!
A double dose of glamor in Scandinavia last night. In addition to the debut state banquet of the new Danish royal couple in Sweden, a simultaneous royal banquet took place in neighboring Norway.
High visitors
Yesterday it was time for a good dose of splendor in Norway! That was when the state visit of Moldovan President Maia Sandu started. And that immediately meant a world first: it was the first time that a Moldovan president visited the far north.
Naturally, the day started with the necessary pomp and circumstance at the reception, where we were especially pleased to see King Harald appear again in full regalia. The strong man has had quite a few health problems recently, and the Norwegian court recently announced that he would not fully resume his duties. However, the monarch, who was assisted by his Queen Sonja, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit, did not simply miss a state visit.

State banquet
After a day full of official visits and political business, it was time for a lot of glamor last night at the traditional state banquet. The Norwegian court already shared a set of atmospheric images of the event via Instagram.

Here the royal party was also accompanied by Princess Astrid, who wore her ruby egret tiara with a soft yellow gown. The 92-year-old lady clearly still likes to be seen at glamorous occasions, and Harald’s older sister looks gorgeous, nun?
Princess Mette-Marit also opted for a lovely, pastel-colored gown, which, according to the experts at UFO No More, had purchased a bright pink example from Carolina Herrera for the occasion. The princess clearly went for a Barbiecore look with matching pink pumps, a pink clutch from Tyler Ellis Lee, and her amethyst diadem.
President Sandu and Queen Sonja, in turn, did not opt for candy pastel shades, but for neutral white, black and gray. Nothing wrong with such a stately classic look, of course! The queen opted for a generous dose of pearls to brighten up the gray dress a bit. Of course, Queen Maud’s pearl tiara, one of Sonja’s favorite diadems, could not be missed. Not surprising for such a historic first!
