Hooray for Queen Maxima! Fly the flag, because Máxima can blow out 53 candles today. We look back to last night, when Her Majesty the King Willem I presented Prizes.
Her Majesty Queen Máxima presented the King Willem I Prizes 2024 on Thursday evening, May 16. The awards ceremony took place in Theater De Spiegel in Zwolle, where representatives of all nominated companies were present.
The King Willem I Prizes are awarded every two years in the categories large and small and medium-sized enterprises. A Plaque for Sustainable Entrepreneurship is awarded for sustainable companies. In recent months, companies have registered for the prizes. Three finalists have been selected in each category. Queen Máxima spoke with the winners after the award ceremony.
The King Willem I Foundation was established in 1958 on the initiative of De Nederlandsche Bank by a number of organizations affiliated with the business community. The aim of the foundation is to give the national economy new impulses and thus increase the prestige of the Dutch business community. The foundation is supported by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. Queen Máxima is honorary chairman of the foundation.
