No other royal could match that!
This Pentecost weekend we may have sat in the sun with our faces and enjoyed the weather. However, relaxing was not an option for the Danish royal family in recent days: they worked up a sweat for their annual Royal Run!
Royal Run
This weekend it happened again: enthusiasts sprinted for charity in various places throughout Denmark. Since 2018, they have been organizing the so-called ‘Royal Run’ every year, a major running event through various Danish cities. Then-Crown Prince Frederik started the tradition on the occasion of his 50th birthdaye anniversary, and after the huge success of the first edition, it has become an annual sporting spectacle.
This year it was also announced that the new Crown Prince, Christian, would have an even greater role. As a young adult next in line, he made his first solo appearance. Together with his father, Queen Mary, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, he showed himself at his sporty best this weekend.
Princely sprint
Yet it was not just Christian who achieved success this weekend. His younger brother, Prince Vincent, once again appears to be a gifted athlete. In fact, the young prince managed to outrun the rest of his family on the 1-mile course! He set an impressive time of 5 minutes and 55 seconds – faster than any other member of the Danish royal family.
Snapshots show that the youngest son of the Danish royal couple runs in the lead immediately after the starting shot, with his two sisters behind him.

“In addition to the 95,000 participants in this year’s Royal Run, there are also many spectators, both along the routes and in front of the TV. Among them is Her Majesty Queen Margrethe, who watches the sports festival from Fredensborg Castle,” the photo reads. Ha! Marge has it all together: relaxing on a comfortable couch with a light summer dress, and a cup of comfort on the table. Do we still have something in common with the Danish royals?
