Zara’s youngest daughter seems to have taken over from Prince Louis.
Traditionally, the British royals went to Sandringham on Christmas Day. And although they looked stunning as always, it wasn’t the outfits that really stood out. None other than Lena Tindall, Zara’s youngest daughter, managed to steal the show with her facial expressions.
Dress code
It was another beautiful sight: the British royals walking towards the church in Sandringham while chatting in their Sunday clothes. The dress code seemed to be well understood by everyone: the men in suits, the women in a neat dress with a long coat over it and bonus points for a flashy hat. Kate ticked all the boxes with her outfit: the princess appeared in a blue coat from Alexander McQueen with a pair of navy-colored Gianvito Rossi boots underneath. The large colossus on her head is a design by Julliette Millinery.
Prince Louis
Good: nice and nice of course, all those neatly dressed royals, but what we enjoy even more is a royal kid who colors a little less within the lines. And while it is normally little Louis who takes on that role, Kate seemed to be able to keep him in line quite well on Monday…
Lena Tindall
Instead, it was Zara Tindall’s youngest daughter who kept the photographers entertained. 5-year-old Lena is not often in the spotlight, but when she appears in public, she makes quite an impression.
Everything seemed to be going well at first, when Lena walked through the crowd between mom and dad…
…but boredom soon seemed to set in. Zara was the victim of this at first…
…and then it was Mike’s turn.
Finally, Lena expressed her displeasure by standing next to her mother and aunt, yawning ostentatiously.
Well, being a 5-year-old among extremely polite royals is of course no small feat. There has to be someone who will thaw things out there a bit – and if that means making crooked faces: so be it. If you’re 23rd in line to the throne, that shouldn’t matter much, nun?
