Wash thoroughly if your vagina stinks? A good idea, but as we said before, it is wise to only do this with water. So forget all the advertising for products for a clean and odor-free vagina: water is more than enough for her. In fact, such products (think vaginal douches or cleansing wipes) can only bring the PH value out of balance. And as we said before: be a little kind to your vagina. Does it smell a bit and do you want to wash it? Do this carefully and certainly not with water that is too hot.
3. Scalding
On hot days it can be extra hot in your underpants and it can also cause your vagina to stink. That is why it is always advisable to wear cotton underwear, especially when the weather is warm. Cotton breathes and ensures that fewer bacteria have the opportunity to cause odors. Change your underpants every day, and possibly twice a day if necessary, to reduce the chance of your vagina smelling strongly.
4. Safe sex
Be careful with (anal) sex. One reason for a smelly vagina may be that you have an infection between your legs. Such an infection can, for example, be caused by the penis of your bed partner having just been washed after anal sex. The bacteria living in your butt can then cause an infection in your vagina. It is also important that you take good care of your vagina after vaginal sex. Did your partner cum inside you? Then try to place it above the toilet and ideally clean it afterwards with a lukewarm washcloth. Or take a refreshing shower!
5. Menstruation
The fact that your vagina ‘stinks’ may also be related to your period. At least, it is important to change your tampon regularly. Keep it on for about two hours and don’t forget! 6. Stress less

7. Toilet rules
Wipe your vagina gently after urination. Also don’t wipe too far from the back to the front. This increases the chance that you will wipe bacteria from your anus onto your vagina, see point four. Dabbing works better, otherwise it is better to wipe from front to back.
8. Water
What is water actually not good for? Even if you don’t want your vagina to stink, it is important that you stay well hydrated. The cleansing qualities of water ensure that your vagina also remains ‘clean’.
