These things make you feel bloated and here’s how to get rid of them

We all suffer from bloating from time to time. It is quite annoying and sometimes difficult to get rid of. These are the types of foods that make you feel bloated and what you should eat to prevent it.

Beans and lentils

Beans are rich in protein and carbohydrates. They are also very rich in fiber. This is all very good for you, but if you eat too much of it it can become irritating. This results in bloating. This applies to beans but also to lentils. Especially if you have irritable bowel syndrome, we recommend reducing your consumption of these legumes to avoid irritation.

Carbonated drinks

Carbonated drinks can cause bloating in many people. These drinks contain carbon dioxide, a gas. When you drink such a drink you ingest a lot of this gas, which sticks in your stomach and causes pressure. To prevent this, it is best to drink drinks that do not contain carbon dioxide. This includes water, coffee, tea and other flat drinks. You don’t have to ban carbon dioxide completely, but reducing your consumption can make a huge difference.

Onions

Onions are real seasonings. You probably don’t eat them in large quantities often. However, eating onions can cause bloating. This is because they contain fructans, which are fibers that can cause this bloating feeling. Onions are difficult to replace, but you can always look for other tasty fresh herbs. Chives and spring onion, for example, is a very tasty option.

Dairy

Dairy is not always a sensible thing to eat for everyone. Especially if you are lactose intolerant, dairy is irritating to your digestive system. This includes milk, cheese, yogurt and other dairy products. If you are lactose intolerant you may be able to tolerate fermented dairy products such as dairy. The same applies to old cheese and butter. Otherwise, you can always switch to lactose-free products or vegan alternatives.

Apples

Apples are very healthy. They contain many good nutrients, but unfortunately sometimes also cause bloating for some people. This is due to fructose and the high amount of fiber in apples. Cooked apples are often easier to digest. But if you prefer not to do that, you can also opt for bananas and blueberries. strawberries or tangerines.

Garlic

Just like the onion, garlic is a real seasoning. But unfortunately, this also causes bloating for some people. Just like onions, garlic contains fructans. An allergy or intolerance to garlic is common. If you have this but don’t want to give up garlic, you can opt for oil with added garlic. You can also cook with other herbs such as thyme, parsley or basil.
