Everyone is currently under the spell of the Eurovision Song Contest. ‘Our’ Joost Klein is already winning big with the bookmakers of the Eurovision Song Contest with his song Europapa. There is even talk about possible profits. For example, former winner Duncan Laurence is already offering himself as a presenter if the Eurovision Song Contest comes to the Netherlands.
Duncan Laurence wants to present the Eurovision Song Contest
The Eurovision Song Contest isn’t until May, but there is already a lot of talk about it. All entries from the participating countries are slowly being announced. The Dutch song was previously released in Arjen Lubach’s TV program and the majority in our country was immediately enthusiastic. Although there was also a lot of cheering for 26-year-old Joost Klein, who is going to the Eurovision Song Contest for the Netherlands. After we finally won the Eurovision Song Contest again in 2019, after 44 years, with Duncan Laurence, things slowed down a bit. But now the Netherlands has a good chance of winning again thanks to Joost’s energetic, happy hardcore song. Europapa turns out to be a radio hit and has a lot of potential for profit.
The high probability of winning means that we even dare to talk about a place in the final. Or even better: about the actual profit. For example, former winner Duncan says on the red carpet of the Edisons that he would like to present the Eurovision Song Contest. “I hereby register,” Duncan tells the ANP. He would think it would be “crazy” to become one of the presenters during a possible Eurovision Song Contest in the Netherlands. “I mean: if we can put my English to good use, Dutch media, it will be at the Eurovision Song Contest!” he still jokes. He responds to the media, who write that Duncan would only like to speak English. Although that is apparently not the only language he speaks. “I can also speak a word of French,” he adds. “So I’m signing up.”
Joost Klein in top 10
Of course, it remains to be seen whether Joost will win the Eurovision Song Contest at all. But as mentioned, the chances of winning are high, if we have to believe the bookmakers. According to the statistics on EurovisionWorld.com, Joost is currently well into the top 10, 6th place to be precise. OMG! Since the release of his song Europapa, he has risen enormously in the rankings. And still not all the numbers have been released. So it can certainly still rise.
Duncan himself is also enthusiastic about Joost. “I like individuality and authenticity. In whatever form that is, I just appreciate that,” he says. He also thinks that it helps that Joost can handle the media well. “That’s going to work very much in his favor,” Duncan said. As far as he is concerned, Joost has “all sails”. We are curious!
