The nominees have been chosen! It’s almost that time again: The 81st Golden Globes awards ceremony is just around the corner: on January 7th, the best films and series of the past year will be honored. Today the nominees for this important award were announced. This year, two new categories have been added in addition to the tried and tested ones: “Cinema and Box Office Success” for films and “Best Stand-Up Comedian” in the series category. These stars, films and series have a chance of winning the award!
Unsurprisingly, the film Oppenheimer is nominated in the “Best Film – Drama” category, as CBS News announced today. Its competition, Barbie, was released in cinemas at the same time and is now up for selection in the “Best Film – Comedy” category. While Jennifer Lawrence (33) and Margot Robbie (33), among others, are hoping for an award for “Best Actress – Musical or Comedy”, Bradley Cooper (48) and Leonardo DiCaprio (49) are nominated for “Best Actor – Drama”.
But in addition to the films, the series are of course not ignored: Selena Gomez (31) could be honored as “Best Actress – Comedy or Musical” for the series Only Murders in The Building. Your series colleagues Steve Martin (78) and Martin Short (73), on the other hand, could be awarded as “Best Actor – Musical or Comedy”.
