Mary carries the blues with her!
She was appointed queen, gave a friendly wave to the Danish people here and there, and the Danish queen Mary promptly went on holiday. Take a break from all the fuss – we get it. However, she is now back at work, and she did it in style yesterday!
Prestigious price
The presentation of the so-called EliteForsk Prize took place yesterday in the modern Black Diamond, part of the royal Danish library. This honor goes annually to young researchers who excel with their scientific work.
In addition to the recognition from a scientific perspective, the prize also comes with a nice sum of money. The winners will each receive 1.2 million Danish crowns, or approximately 161,000 euros. Of these, one million kroner has been reserved for their research, and they can keep 200,000 kroner for themselves. What a nice bonus!
Mary
In the presence of the Danish Minister of Higher Education and Science, Mary had the task of presenting the prizes to the young researchers yesterday. For this, she showed up in a tone-on-tone look with an all-blue outfit from The Fold – not counting the snakeskin Gianvito Rossi pumps.
Our favorite detail? That is undoubtedly the queen’s bright blue nail polish. Protocols regarding natural nail colors? They clearly don’t care about that in Denmark!
We’re also guessing that Mary may have hired another makeup artist for her appearance. Or perhaps it is simply the post-winter sports glow that the queen carries with her.
Busy schedule
The royal couple will be very busy in the coming months. They will make their first series of state visits at the beginning of May. On May 6 and 7 they will be in Sweden, and the journey will continue to Norway on May 14 and 15. After these first two state visits, the royal couple will make their appearance in the Faroe Islands and Greenland in June and July – although the dates have not yet been completely determined.
When the couple returns to Denmark, they will also put on their running shoes for the annual Royal Run. This year, an extra major role will be played by Crown Prince Christian, who will appear solo at the start for the first time at the edition in Brønderslev.
