In 2023, Máxima introduced 51 outfits. That sounds like a huge number, but with five state visits, several regional visits, a 10-day visit to the Caribbean, a coronation and several (royal) weddings in the agenda, it is actually not that bad. For comparison: in 2019 there were 55, in 2018 52 and in 2017 even 63.
In terms of brands, the preference for Natan, Max Mara, Zeus + Dione and Claes Iversen is striking. There were also new names: Foberini, Frame, Joseph, Mahpara Khan and Dries van Noten.
If you could take over three outfits from Máxima, what would they be? I really like the casual set from Max Mara (number 3), partly because of the denim sandals. This is what I would wear to a summer drink with friends. I would take Foberini’s dress (number 11) with me on holiday to Hungary next summer and in number 34 (the soft pink Taminiau) you can probably spin around in circles when no one is looking at you.
