Why you should absolutely get a daylight lamp in your home

Winter depressions are no joke. Everything seems to be going wrong and you prefer to temporarily disappear into hibernation until the sun shows up again. Unfortunately, hibernation is not very realistic for people, but we have found the perfect solution that makes you feel like getting up in the morning, even in winter.

In this gray and gray weather, sunny daylight is of course hard to find. If it doesn’t rain, there will be wind, but the sun is nowhere to be seen. This can be quite depressing for many people, because you simply have a vitamin D deficiency. Besides, sunny weather makes everyone happier, right?

What is a daylight lamp?

You can reduce winter depression symptoms with a daylight lamp. This lamp actually works as a kind of light therapy, by exposing ‘natural daylight’. Our body is set up in such a way that we wake up best with natural daylight and sunlight. You really won’t be able to do that in the winter, but you can with a daylight lamp. It can also be a way to get out of bed earlier, because you simply wake up healthier. How delightful!

Influences

This lamp also works well against sleep disorders and ‘normal’ depression. A daylight lamp has many positive influences on your body. It boosts the production of serotonin and melatonin – these substances ensure a good balance between your sleep and wake cycle. If you have a deficiency of these substances, the risk of (winter) depression is greater. With such a lamp you will see your energy levels and mood improve significantly.

Do you often have jet lag or night shifts? The daylight lamp is also a good choice. Your day and night rhythm can be quite disturbed, but with a daylight lamp you can properly regulate your sleep rhythm. If you use this after jet lag, for example, you will immediately feel a lot more rested.

Daylight glasses

Apparently it doesn’t stop with such a great daylight lamp. There are now also daylight glasses available. This ultimately makes you a bit more flexible, but then you have to wear those glasses. It’s a bit of a trade-off, but in any case we are already fans. Are you going to get one too?
