The new season of Married At First Sight has started again! And in the first episode we immediately see a wedding: the wedding of Malou and Sarath. Personality-wise, they seem like a good match. Yet there are doubts among Malou’s mother Sisca and among viewers on social media. They are somehow afraid that Malou will be turned off by his appearance. But is that the case, or is she really going into the love adventure with an open mind?

In the first episode of the new season of Married At First Sight we immediately get to know Malou. And her mother Sisca was present, from whom she may have adopted some character traits. Relationship coach Anne Campagne calls her an “energetic butterfly”. Malou is a social person and loves parties. When 40-year-old Sarath introduces himself, he comes across as the sweet, caring man she is looking for. Although he is also a sensitive man. When he was only nine months old, he was adopted from Sri Lanka. He then received a lot of love from his adoptive parents, whom he unfortunately lost at a young age. Of course he misses them, but: “My parents always taught me to look ahead and not to complain, but to carry on.” Now he is looking for a nice woman with whom he can cuddle on the couch in the evening. He now only does that with his cheerful rabbit Janneke. Meanwhile, he also has a great passion for vintage cars, he owns two himself. Like a true typical ‘romcom’ man, he hopes to later drive one of his vintage cars with his wife. Cute!
Viewers don’t believe in match
Malou and Sarath seem to be a good match in terms of personality. Sarath is also a bit crazy. He was once the jubilee prince during the carnival and, just like Malou, a large social life is important. The personal cards attached to each other also affect them both. Sarath also gets very excited about Malou’s beautiful handwriting. Sweet! Malou mainly reacts with many tears, while Sarath becomes silent. Malou’s mother also reacts happily to the letter and thinks he is a “good man”.

Doubts in mother
Before Malou and Sarath tie the knot, they have a good conversation with the experts. In it we hear that Sarath always falls in love quickly: that is a pitfall. Malou often used to run away from her feelings. She doesn’t do that anymore, she says. She prefers to talk through a heated discussion. Malou is convinced that the scientists have found the ideal match.
