In an interview with Variety, the 53-year-old revealed the reasons for the dismissal. After the success of the show, her team didn’t open up any new opportunities for her: “All they wanted was another cookie show,” explains the film star. She was also willing to take part in it: “The fans deserved a sequel… Cookie was so popular. Actually, they couldn’t have screwed it up,” emphasizes the “Hidden Figures” actress. But the project did not come to fruition.
After her team failed to implement the format, there was nothing left for her to do.
