Before Kate set her sights on William, she had a nice time with another handsome man.
Princess Kate has of course been happy with William for years, but the prince was not her first love. Before she pledged her eternal loyalty to Wills, she spent a while as a student with Rupert Finch. But who is this man actually?
The Crown
Anyone who has seen The Crown knows that the series sometimes plays too far with the truth. The episodes are based on true stories, but sometimes give a distorted picture of what actually happened. It is therefore often questionable whether something that takes place in the series actually happened.
In the sixth season, which was recently released, we are taken into the storyline of William and Kate. In it we see that the two, before they get together, are both in a relationship with another student. For Prince William this is in the Lola Airdale-Cavendish-Kincaid series. However, it previously emerged that it was a made-up girlfriend. Kate’s crush, on the other hand, is a real person and has actually dated the princess.
Short romance
In 2001, Rupert Finch came into Kate’s life. He was three grades above her, and before Kate set her sights on William, the two had a brief romance. We don’t know much more about the relationship, because of course the princess herself remains tight-lipped, and Rupert doesn’t want to say much about it either. In 2006 he said: “It’s not something I’ll ever talk about. It’s between Kate and me and it’s been a long time.”
The fact that there were no hard feelings between Kate, William and Rupert was evident from the fact that Rupert was one of the guests at Kate and Wills’ wedding in 2011. Two years later he himself tied the knot with Lady Natasha Rufus Isaacs. With her he had three daughters: Georgia, Cienna and India.
Rupert himself seems to be a wealthy businessman, but the career of his wife Natasha can also be mentioned: she is the co-founder of Beulah London, a fashion label in which we have regularly seen none other than Princess Kate herself.
This once again shows that there is absolutely no jealousy between the two couples. A good example!
