The former Hollywood film star still knows how to inspire us.
With her timeless style and undeniable elegance, Audrey Hepburn changed the fashion world forever. We look back at a number of iconic fashion moments of the Hollywood film star, with which she continues to inspire us to this day.

Audrey Hepburn had the ability to make any outfit elegant, whether it was the clothes she wore in Roman Holiday or her outfits in Sabrina. But her signature look as Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s is also legendary and is also responsible for our obsession with the Little Black Dress. Even after a transatlantic flight, Hepburn still managed to move in style.
But hey, with a British banker for a father and a Dutch baroness, elegance is of course also something you are taught from a young age. We list some of her favorite looks for you.
1. Her ‘Roman Holiday’ Style

The outfits Audrey Hepburn wore in the film Roman Holiday may not be as famous as her legendary wardrobe from Breakfast at Tiffany’s, but they are just as inspiring. For example, the skirt with belt and blouse with collar is an absolute favorite because of its beautiful lines and beautiful silhouette.
Audrey Hepburn expert and author of the book Audrey Hepburn in Paris Meghan Friedlander previously told In Style: “After production on the film wrapped, Paramount Studios gave Audrey her entire Roman Holiday wardrobe as a wedding gift.” Although she never married her then-fiancé James Hanson, we imagine she proudly added it to her wardrobe.
2. The black and white ball gown in ‘Sabrina’

One of Hepburn’s most beloved dresses is undoubtedly the black and white ball gown from Givenchy. The dress is also known as the Inez de Castro dress, and she wore it in the movie Sabrina. According to Friedlander, the dress looked great on her. “I love how the skirt is removable, a unique feature of the Gentleman Couturier,” said the expert.
3. The Iconic ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s Dress’

The dress – also by Givenchy – that Hepburn wore in the opening scene of Breakfast at Tiffany’s is without a doubt her most famous and most imitated look. With oversized sunglasses, dramatic gloves and an opulent necklace, she styled the dress beautifully. It is therefore not without reason that the showpiece has achieved legendary status in the film world.
4. The statement coat in ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’

Once again on the set of Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Audrey Hepburn dazzled in one of her most iconic and unforgettable looks. “Never underestimate the importance of a statement coat,” says Friedlander. Holly Golightly’s orange coat, with its double buttons, striking funnel neck and beautifully tailored fit, was a real eye-catcher.
5. The floral dress from the Academy Awards

At the 26th Academy Awards, Audrey Hepburn won the Best Actress award for her role in Roman Holiday. During the ceremony she wore a modified version of the floral dress that she also wore in the final scene of the film.
“The dress was originally designed by Edith Head, but Audrey asked Hubert de Givenchy if he would customize it for her for the awards,” says Friedlander. The designer removed the sleeves and added a subtle décolleté. The design became a true modern classic and was later sold at auction for more than $130,000.
