This writer has been close to the Sussexes for years, and according to several leaked excerpts, the new publication could cause a lot of problems between Prince Harry and Meghan and the rest of the Windsors. After several revelations, the story now goes that Princess Anne convinced her brother Charles to expel Harry and Meghan from Frogmore. Oh oh.
Book full of revelations
Just a little recap: we previously shared that a new book by Omid Scobie will soon be published. This name may sound familiar to you: together with Carolyn Durand, he was responsible for the book Finding Freedom, about the relationship between Harry and Meghan and their eventual departure from the palace. In his upcoming publication, Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival, several details would come to light about the difficult relationship between Harry, brother William, and father Charles.
For example, leaked documents say that Harry was ‘completely alone’ around the death of his grandmother (and did not even know that the Queen was dying). “The next morning, the Sussexes had no idea that Buckingham Palace was already planning for the Queen’s final hours, and the first days of the new era of the monarchy – until the Duke’s phone started ringing,” said Scobie .
Role of Princess Anne
Since the rumor mill has been working overtime around the upcoming book, several names have already been discussed. Yet a new one is now coming into play, namely that of Princess Anne. She is said to have played a major role in the eviction of Harry and Meghan from Frogmore Cottage. The new book would point heavily to the king’s sister regarding the decision on ‘Frogxit’.
The couple were given the Grade II listed five-bedroom property on the Windsor estate as a wedding present from the late Queen Elizabeth before they were evicted in January – 24 hours after the publication of Harry’s book Spare. The Sussexes had paid £2.4 million to renovate Frogmore and were determined to keep it as a British base. Yet they were told to move, which Scobie described at the time as a ‘cruel punishment’. French magazine Paris Match now reports that the author of the new book will claim it was Harry’s aunt Anne who encouraged Charles to ‘Frogxit’ as part of a crackdown on the couple. Wow, those are some bold statements!
Distanced
Earlier this month, the MailOnline said it spoke to several ‘Sussex insiders’ who claim that Harry and Meghan are strongly distancing themselves from Scobie’s latest book. New revelations about mutual tensions would of course be disastrous for any cautious reconciliation.
The leaked excerpts came just as it appeared the Sussexes were looking to rekindle their bond with the Windsors. After a tough Oprah interview, a documentary series, and a memoir, H & M are said to have come to their senses and want to focus on restoring family ties. For example, they reportedly had a friendly telephone conversation with their father-in-law on Charles’ most recent birthday, and sources reported that plans had already been made to speak again in the short term.
