With this way your hair curls will stay in place

There is nothing more frustrating in this world than spending at least two hours curling your hair, only to blink and discover that your curls have already fallen out. So two hours of your precious time gone. There are quite a few tricks that you can use before, during and after curling your hair to ensure that your curls stay in place. We guarantee that your curls will stay in place for much longer with these six tips.

Tip 1: Wash your hair differently

Yes, you read that right. Ensuring that your curls last longer starts in the shower. The product that makes your curls loosen faster is conditioner. Conditioner makes your hair soft and smooth. That’s fine if you have dry hair, but not if you want to let your curls last longer. Experts recommend skipping conditioner altogether when washing your hair if you’re going to curl it afterwards. If you’re thinking, “Yes, but I have to use conditioner!”, use the smallest amount and only in the ends of your hair.

Tip 2: Prep your hair

If you want to get your hair to do something it wouldn’t do on its own, you need to give it a helping hand with products. The first product you can use for this is a mousse. A mousse can give your hair extra body for a longer period. It also makes your hair stiffer, which makes the curl hold better. Use a large amount of mousse and spread it from the roots to the ends of your hair.

Note: Don’t forget to use a heat protector in addition to mousse! This product ensures that your hair is not damaged by the heat of your straightening or curling iron.

Tip 3: Curl up!

Now it’s really time to start curling your hair. It is important that you have a good quality straightening or curling iron. To be extra sure that your curls will stay in place, we recommend curling at a temperature between 150 degrees and 200 degrees Celsius. That sounds hot, but if you have a good curling iron, this temperature will not cause hair damage, but only a nice curl. n text goes here

Tip 4: Cool down a bit

We’ll tell you now: you’ll need a lot of hair clips for this step. Once you have curled a strand of your hair, roll it up and secure it with a clip. Repeat this until all your hair is rolled up and secured to your head. It may look strange, but this is the way to cool your hair properly and maintain the curl at the same time. If you curl a strand of hair and immediately let it fall, the weight of your hair can cause the curl to lose intensity and eventually fall out. Wait until your hair has cooled completely before removing it from the clips.

Note:  Don’t have all the time in the world? You can cool your curls faster by blow-drying your hair on the coolest setting.

Tip 5: Shake it

Once your hair has cooled completely, it’s time to carefully remove it from the clips. Gently let the strands fall as you roll out your hair. Once you’ve loosened all your hair, run your fingers through it loosely. Be careful not to do this too much, too long or too hard, because then you will increasingly remove the effect of the curl. Stop when you think your curls are still a little too hard and defined. Your curls will naturally find a more natural shape due to gravity.

Tip 6: Finish it

You’re probably thinking: “Spray her with hairspray and you’re done!”, but we’ll have to disappoint you. Hairspray can actually cause your curls to fall out more quickly, because the particles in hairspray make your hair heavier. We recommend using a texturizing spray in the final stages of curling. A texturizing spray gives less weight and more volume to your hair, making your curls even airier and giving them a real bounce.
