Did it actually not fit Queen Elizabeth II (✝96)? In 2019, the then British regent became a great-grandmother again. Prince Harry (39) and Duchess Meghan (42) welcomed their second child – a little daughter – into the world. This has two special names: Lilibet Diana (2). The former was the British monarch’s childhood nickname. But the fact that the Sussexes named their child after her is said to have angered the Queen. A royal expert now thinks he knows more about it!
On X, Omid Scobie, of all people, speaks out about the rumors surrounding Lilibet’s name. The self-proclaimed nobility expert is actually better known for shooting against the royals. In his statement, however, he defends the Queen: “None of these Lilibet revelations are good for the late Queen […] a favor. Not only do they contradict what the palace gave in a jointly written biography in 2022, but they also portray the monarch in a way that the public was not familiar with.”
However, a few days ago an insider told Daily Mail the opposite. According to the source, Harry and Meghan did not ask the Queen for permission to use her nickname as their daughter’s name. That’s why Prince Philip’s (✝99) wife is said to have been “more angry than ever” with her.
